lyrics

VERSE 1
Remember when they thought it was scientific to measure our heads again?/ from marble counting to SAT routing - oppressive this method is/

Tried to put us in the middle/ to pawn our peace as racial capitalism/
From civil disobedience to systemic radicalism/
Tried to keep us from the light and we had to grow wisdom shade of violet/
use to sit on the back of the bus so whites to the front of the riot/
policed and ignored/ in addition to racist 5 0/ like Bettina Love - liberation means more than survival/
the movement checks pulses for signs vital/ white moderate - will they join us this time? how would I...no
Inflicted sickness/ we already know what COVID is kid/ still no plan to address racism in this countries vision/ more than a blind spot or a detour I should mention/ They traded in their white sheets for a badge to get protection/
Just a racist henchman/ learning this is the classroom I’m guessing/ white teachers preach anti-Black self hate and testing/
Unlearn while liberating with light is twice as hard/
“You asking me about freedom?” thinking im a Midnight maraud
(Er?) ‘Merica has looted

CHORUS:
In the mist of COVID - premeditated white supremacy/
500 years and being black still means your the enemy/
Protest! Look around - whose standing next to me/
When a Black man mentally ahead 5 centuries/
white accomplices to the front instead of me/
From being led to BAM BAM put some led in me

VERSE 2
America looted Black, Brown, Yellow, and Red for centuries/
“it’s elementary - they want us all gone eventually”/
Black and brown youth lead the movement and it’s still separate pathways/
“A few geniuses from the rubbish”  type homoeconomicus math stays/
We Black: come in vast shades/
Shore watch the crashed waves/
Life at a fast pace/
Peace through war these past days
Ain’t nothing new/ you and me can’t talk
I don’t associate with folks Harriet Tubman would have shot
Rebel leaders labeled dissidents/
For dreams to shift reality lived in/
Uptop rocking/
Transformation forgotten

BRIDGE VERSE
Yo here we go
Drop a hop scotch/ butter in the pot with it/
Often rhythm rocking type starter kit
Careful for folks who tried to martyr him/
Alarmism bargaining chips
Only represented tranactionally/ yo weave
Cultural capital rationally/
Notice how they said they mastered mcs?
Rock it off the type known to rhyme/
Drop passionately/
They faster than me/
Rhythmic causality to duality/
It’s a nice use of pot pourri
Violates materialistic fallacy/
Check pattern they said was random/
Pre get your hand out of my pocket/
I clock in like early COVID shift in stock tips
